Samsung’s latest additions to its smartphone lineup have been unveiled now and among them, the and its extra fancy variants, the S20+ and the S20 Ultra. While no official launch date has been announced yet, as we speak for all the models.

S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra

likely shipping to pre-order customers in the first week of march (specifically for march 13th in the uk), you’ll be able to get your hands on samsung’s new batch of smartphones sooner than you think, but will they be worth it? what can you expect from the samsung s20? that’s what we’re here to look at, so let’s check it out.

has their advantages - the ultra packs a 108mp camera and some extra storage, for example - but the majority of people out there will be fine getting the s20 and saving the extra cash that would go to the fancier models. you’ll still be getting the run of samsung’s latest features including 5g support, a much higher capacity battery, and more.

Samsung Galaxy S20 - Display and Build

the features a 6.2-inch display, 12gb of ram, three rear cameras up to 64mp, capable of 8k video recording, clearer night-time photos, a microsd card slot for extra storage, 120gz display screen, and a 4000mah battery, among others. the s20 ultra extends the storage space from 128gb up to 512gb and adds the aforementioned 108mp camera.

one major difference from previous models that might not be received well is the complete absence of a headphone jack. like the iphone before it, samsung has removed the 3.5mm headphone jack entirely with this new batch, instead using the space for the extra microsd storage. if the lack of a traditional headphone port doesn’t bother you too much - or you prefer bluetooth headphones - you’d be hard-pressed to find many other faults with the s20.

the s20’s 6.2-inch display is marginally larger than the s10’s 6.1-inch screen, but the screen’s maximum resolution of 3040 x 1440 (and a default resolution of 2220 x 1080), ends up looking sharper and saves more battery. the brand new 120hz refresh rate is only available at the default resolution, however, so you’d be best leaving your phone at that and relishing the massive improvement the higher refresh rate makes to the way your phone looks and feels.

Samsung Galaxy S20 - Camera

the improved camera features a bigger sensor and larger pixels than previous iterations, which means you’ll be able to capture more detail and light within your photos. there are three lenses - a 12mp main camera, a 64mp telephoto camera and a 12mp ultra-wide camera, offering a wide array of photo options, and that’s all without talking about the up to 8k video recording and the ability to take photos while filming videos. samsung isn’t skimping on photography options here.

aside from the camera, one of the biggest tech advancements in the s20 is that 5g is available by default, which is still a very new thing in the smartphone world (though, it won’t be for long) and means that you’ll be theoretically able to get download speeds of up to 200mbps while out roaming the streets, a huge improvement over the more common 4g we have now. of course, 5g is spreading across america at the moment, but we’ll still have to wait a year or two for it to take hold in the uk in any particularly large way. for that reason, the s20 will be launched with a 4g variant which will inevitably be a bit more reliable for uk usage, at least for the next year or so.

Samsung Galaxy S20 - Battery

优盈票app好的as for battery life, the s20 features a fairly intense 4000mah capacity battery, which will give you around 19 hours of battery life on a single charge. if you do start running out of charge, you can take advantage of samsung’s ‘super fast’ charging or the qi-compatible wireless charging. with all of this in mind, it’s safe to say that you’re not going to have to worry about your phone’s battery life for a while.

Samsung Galaxy S20 - Impressions

overall, the is a big step forward for smartphone technology, particularly when 5g begins to gain more and more coverage across the uk. in the meantime, the s20 offers a triple-lens camera with some huge potential that rivals apple’s iphone 11 cameras, as well as a lot of storage options, and a beautiful and responsive, high-refresh-rate screen.

优盈票app好的this time around there is no cheaper s20e option, so if you’re trying to keep within a budget, keep in mind that your cheapest option is the s20 standard, which will still set you back around ), though some of the contract options and packages may offer you better deals. if you feel like the s20 isn’t enough, the s20+ and ultra are also available, but for some significantly higher costs.
